Diva Geneva is a KINDER KLOWN who was educated in the Baltimore County Public School system. Born Veronica Curry in Baltimore, MD, in the 1950’s, Veronica always had a desire to help somebody’s child who was in need. As a child, she migrated to the children in her class that no one else wanted to be with and at times, she gave up her lunch, her raincoat, and even her ice cream money to those less fortunate than herself.
After graduation from college,Veronica began a career with the State of MD, Department of Human Resources. Her experiences as a Caseworker, Social Worker, and a Child Care Licensing Specialist/Supervisor for over 20 years moved her a step closer to the Diva Geneva persona. She learned first hand, that there are so many children who are in need, who have absolutely no one that they can turn to for support, love, and nurturing.
The character, Diva Geneva, was created in the year 2000. Two years later, after experiencing serious personal and medical challenges, Veronica received a spiritual visit from her late Grandmother Geneva, who told her that “everything was going to be alright.” Grandmother Geneva further stated that, she Veronica, needed to learn to serve, and trust in the true power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through her engagements at birthday parties, schools, churches, libraries, nursing homes, and hospitals, Diva Geneva has been putting smiles on faces and laughter in the hearts of many children of all ages.
Veronica began writing professionally for the local newspaper in her town, and shortly thereafter, her alter ego, Diva Geneva, became an actress on The New Kinderman television show, that airs on Saturday mornings, on ABC, and is specifically designed to educate young children. In 2005, she wrote her first children's book "Meet Diva Geneva." It is Veronica’s belief that the Diva Geneva stories will provide comfort to children and their caregivers, as they face the challenges that life has to offer. To God Be The Glory!
